The Cultural Center Participates in the Conference on The Role of Society in the Integrated Process to Address the Effects of Climate Change
The Director of the Cultural Center, Professor Dr. Nizar Abdul Mohsen Jaafar, participated in the scientific conference "The Role of Civil Society in the Integrated Process to Address the Effects of Climate Change," held under the patronage of the Prime Minister, Engineer Mohammed Shiaa Al-Sudani, organized by the Popular Relief Organization and its partners, and supported by the Norwegian People's Aid Organization, with the presence of both local and central governments, civil society organizations, academic institutions, and those concerned with environmental issues. The conference aimed to discuss ways to enhance joint cooperation in addressing challenges related to climate change. The conference covered several axes, most notably the responsibility of civil society within the framework of the integrated approach, the importance of international coordination and the cross-border role of civil society organizations, in addition to the role of civil society in supporting marginalized groups affected by climate change, the ways to empower them, and enhance their participation in environmental efforts, along with emphasizing the importance of free access for civil society organizations to international mechanisms concerned with climate change.
