A seminar discussing the impact of the type of irrigation water on sunflower plant
The Faculty of Agriculture at the University of Basrah held a seminar discussing the impact of the quality of irrigation water on the growth and germination of two types of genotype of sunflower plant.
The researcher Anhar Mahmood Geaz pointed out all the properties that could be studied and could be significantly affected by the levels of salt used in comparison with the treatment of RO, except for the diameter of the stem.
The response of both genotypes was equal to irrigation water treatments. No significant differences were observed in the characteristics of the study.
It was concluded that the treatment of 100% of drainage water is not suitable for irrigation for its negative effect on most growth characteristics and can be mixed by 25% with potable water through some growth indicators in the study.
