University of Basrah Observe Metformin Effect on Additional Disorders Treatment

A seminar at the College of Pharmacy, Pharmacology and Taxonomy Department entitled (The Effects of Metformin Effect on Additional Disorders Treatment than Diabetes) which was discussed by Dr. Shaima Nadem.
She mentioned that Metformin is a hypoglycemic drug taken orally from Biguanide class. It is the first treatment line for type 2 diabetes, in particular, for people who are overweight or with fatness, those who have normal renal function and are also used in the treatment of Polycystic ovary syndrome and it has been tested in other diseases where the Insulin resistance has an important role. Metformin works by Inhibition of Glucose production by the liver. Also, other evidence suggests that Metformin may prevent heard complications, blood vessel, and can prevent clots as well as aging resistant and its diseases. The seminar also discussed the side effects of Metformin, including digestive system disorder and low blood sugar.
