College of Dentistry at Basrah University organized a scientific lecture on Fluoride and Tooth decay.
The lecture which presented by the researcher Sarah Wadih Hashim started with a definition for fluoride, a substance responsible for the protection of teeth, explaining that they are found in abundance in dental clinics and used to reduce caries and should be cautious when used for children to avoid swallowing because too much causes poisoning (Toxicity).
The purpose of the lecture is to explain the use of fluoride for the treatment of tooth sensitivity and prevention of caries. The use of the substance begins in the treatment of teeth under the supervision of specialized doctors, and some tips must be adhered to, such as not washing, eating or drinking water for half an hour to keep its effect on the teeth.
