University of Basrah begins the establishment of the second station for physical monitoring

Marine Science Center at Basrah University has started the establishment of the second station of its kind physical monitoring north of Basrah.
Dr. Malik Hassan, the head of scientific mission that in charge of monitoring the station, said that work is continuing in the installation of research equipment in Qurna district in the north of the governorate, at the end of the Tigris estuary before meeting the Euphrates River. The team has also been able to collect biological samples of riverine biology there and conduct surveys of the riverbed at the Sharash site for laboratory research.
The purpose behind the establishment of such station is to monitor the ongoing environmental developments and changes that occur in Shatt al-Arab water which contributes in prepare accurate data to be used by researchers and scientists to monitor river phenomena and developments.
