Based on the national and humanitarian duty and what the Basra Governorate is going through, the College of Engineering at the University of Basra, with the support of the President of Basra University, Prof. Saad Shaheen, and the Dean of the College of Engineering, Prof. Ramzi Salem, has taken the initiative to manufacture sterilization, disinfection and fumigation liquids.
Dr. Abdul Wahid Al-Hajjaj, a researcher and teacher in the Department of Chemical Engineering, stated that the aim is to produce these materials to support governmental efforts and humanitarian organizations to confront the Corona pandemic.
Al-Hajjaj added, the production was carried out by the cadres of the Chemical Engineering Department represented by Dr. Abdul Wahid and Dr. Muhammad Nasser Faris, and among these materials: sterilization and disinfection liquids for hands and people, liquids for fumigating surfaces and floors, sterilization and disinfection for vegetables and fruits, and chlorine.
