University of Basrah ,College of Pharmacy held a viva exam of M.Sc. candidate Raghda Mohamed Kamel
M.Sc student :the pharmacist Raghda Mohamed Kamel discussed her master's thesis at College of Pharmacy , University of Basrah . The thesis is entitled(Preparation , diagnosis and study of some biological activities of new compounds of 2 aminotheosolide and their derivatives) The thesis aimed to study the thiosoldenone compounds and their derivatives and the possibility to be used as a basic compound to design new drug of wide range of activity such as analgesic and anti-inflammatory properties through binding and selective inhibition of the enzyme cyclooxygenase 2 (COX2) . The chemical composition of the prepared compounds was diagnosed by optical, chemical , optical properties in addition to magnetic property .The study also revealed anti-inflammatory activity of the compounds and all of the prepared compounds could reduce the size of edema significantly and exhibit analgesic effect .
