A master's thesis was discussed in the College of Science / Department of Life Sciences at the University of Basra, entitled
Molecular determination and prevalence of TTV and SENV in hepatitis B virus patients donating blood in Basrah Governorate.
The message of the researcher (Khaled Nasser Diwan), which aimed to identify the prevalence of infections with TTV and SENV viruses in hepatitis patients and healthy blood donors in the city of Basra, for both sexes, with an average age ranged between 19 and 55 years, through the use of the ELISA technique to diagnose viral hepatitis type B and C, as well as the use of PCR technology to detect the spread of TTV and SENV viruses, as well as genotyping of the genotypes SENV-D and SEN-H. The study recommended conducting more studies to link these viruses with hepatitis idiopathic, as well as more genetic and biological studies of these viruses and their relationship to hepatitis and other diseases such as marine anemia, acute respiratory diseases and autoimmune diseases. It also recommended the introduction of rapid laboratory tests as a routine diagnosis to reduce the spread of these viruses.
