On Tuesday, 2/11/2021, the Department of Philosophy in the College of Arts organized a panel discussion entitled (The Impact of the Crusades on Sunni-Shiite Relations / Muhammad Mukhtar Al-Shanqiti) (presentation and analysis)
The panel discussion in which the assistant lecturer Aqeel Jabbar Jassem lectured included highlighting the vision of the researcher Dr. Muhammad bin Al-Mukhtar Al-Shanqiti in his book The Impact of the Crusades on Sunni-Shiite Relations through what he reviewed from historical narrations in an attempt to address the distortions of Islamic memory related to the nature of Sunni-Shiite relations for two centuries.
The episode dealt with the attempt of the researcher, Dr. Muhammad bin Al-Mukhtar Al-Shanqiti, to address the distortions of the Islamic memory related to the nature of Sunni-Shiite relations, the restoration of history, and the emergence of a new realistic vision.
The panel discussion touched on what the researcher mentioned in his book about the nature of Sunni-Shiite relations, and the most important narratives he has observed that express the historical reality that is different from the distorted vision that Muslims inherited throughout their history.
