The Master’s thesis at the University of Basra discusses (Ibn Fateq Al-Bayhaqi’s resources and methodology in the book “The Genealogy, the Titles and the Eqab”) by the student: Saja Sabah Habib.
Where I dealt with a real study in the book (Lab al-Ansab, al-Aqab wa al-Aqab), because this book has a diverse material, combining history with its events, genealogy and translations. Genealogy, titles, and consequences are among the important topics that have not been subject to academic study
The study was divided into an introduction, a conclusion, and three chapters, where the first chapter included: - The biography of Ibn Al-Bayhaqi Hotel, and the second chapter was devoted to: - The resources of the book: The Book of Genealogy, Titles and Punishment. The third chapter dealt with the general methodology of the book in presenting the content of its material.
The thesis concluded a number of matters, perhaps the most prominent of them: Ibn Hotel acquired a wide culture through his upbringing in a scientific family, whether on the father’s side or on the mother’s side. Likewise in the volume of the material, as many genealogy and captains of his time were transmitted from various places, distinguished by the methodology and the summary, whether in the attribution of the news or in the presentation of its material, thus providing a rich material in the lineages and the consequences.
