The University of Basra Council voted unanimously to reject the law equivalent to Arabic and foreign certificates and academic degrees during its second session for the academic year 2020-2021, which was held on Monday, 2/11/2020.
University President Dr Saad Shaheen Hammadi stated that the University Council voted to reject the law because the House of Representatives legislated it without presenting it to the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the advanced cadres of the ministry that specialized in this regard. Moreover, the law included important materials to address the cases of evaluation of scientific certificates and their effects on the expected scientific sobriety.
