The phrase “Iraq sleeps on a sea of oil” is always repeated, and it also sleeps on a sea of civilization and the effects of that civilization, starting from the center of the college in society and within the framework of historical studies that take a large space in the college, the College of Education for Human Sciences and with the approval of the Presidency of the University of Basra ( The Unit for Studying Religious and Historical Sites in Central and Southern Iraq) The unit whose concept of work emerges through its naming will be a starting point for academic historical studies that are concerned with historical geography to see the light in a practical and applied reality that increases the studies’ clarity and the recipient’s understanding.
In addition to noting that the unit’s work program includes tourist trips by groups and individuals to historical and religious sites behind in the region within an integrated tourism curriculum with appropriate fees and the nature of trips that include a tourist guide and other paragraphs, in addition to what was mentioned above, the unit is interested in holding seminars, workshops and courses in archaeological sites or In the college with other interests that can be found by those who have the desire when visiting the unit in the college building.
It is noteworthy that the unit's management is managed by Assistant Professor Dr. Nofal Kazem Mahous and three members whose specializations and studies vary according to the stages of history and the unit's media personnel.
