| The College of Nursing at the University of Basra organized an inspection visit to the Children’s Specialized Hospital in Basra. The visit was attended by Prof. Dr. Sajjad Salem Issa, Head of the Community Health Branch, Dr. Wathiq Pharaon, Head of the Basic Medical Sciences Branch, Six Afkar Fadel, and Professor Farhan Layth, faculty members The visit aimed to see the conditions of children with cancer, stand by them, raise their morale, and add joy and pleasure to their souls. Where a field visit was made to the hospital, which includes a number of children with cancer and blood diseases from Basra and a number of southern Iraq governorates, gifts and some financial grants were presented to them, which encourages the need to provide volunteer work that can serve this category of sick children. Dr. Sajjad Salem Issa, one of the professors accompanying the team, stated that the visit was among the continuous and supportive activities carried out by the college to the Basra Specialized Hospital for Children to provide some medical and therapeutic materials, as well as providing psychological support and gifts to sick children. On his part, Prof. Dr. Abdul-Amir Abdullah Al-Moussawi, Dean of the College, confirmed the College's intention to continue the visits and provide support to children with cancerous diseases to stand by them and raise their morale. |
