Master's thesis at the College of Medicine, University of Basrah, discussed a clinical-epidemiological study of atopic dermatitis and the role of Toll-like receptors in the skin defense mechanism of children in Basrah city - Iraq. The research presented by student Aya Ali Zayed aims to identify the prevalence and distribution of atopic dermatitis, in addition to knowing the determinants that affect the appearance of the disease in children in Basrah city, as well as studying the concentrations of Toll-like receptors in infected children and comparing them with children without dermatitis. The research concluded that there is a need to conduct large community studies to know the true prevalence of atopic dermatitis, as well as focus on preventive measures for infants exposed to the disease and patients who suffer from frequent attacks and who have moderate or large severity of the disease.
