Partial differential equations (PDEs) have been used to describe many phenomena and problems that appear in various sciences, and image processing is one of them. In this seminar, we will cover the basics of numerical applications for modeling image processing (e.g., image inpainting). There is a set of definitions presented, such as the digital image, and its types, as well as how to represent them mathematically. After that, the most important image-processing applications that use PDE algorithms were presented, including denoising, blurring, segmentation, inpainting, and object removal.
