The College of Dentistry University of Basrah held an educational symposium under the title Violence against women around the world.
The symposium included a lecture that was delivered by the official of the Women's Support and Empowerment Unit, Dr. Naglaa Saeed Al-Saffar, on the occasion of the International Day of Eliminating the Violence against Women.
The lecture dealt with the problem of violence against women as it is considered a permanent problem and a violation of human rights and the negative impact of violence on women's physical, psychological and reproductive health.
The lecture mentioned several ways to address the violence that women are subjected to and the call for taking more measures and coming up with laws to protect women to live in safety and a society free of violence in all its forms, whether physical or psychological violence.
