The University of Basrah scored the second placement in the seventh national Qura'nic competition for the Iraqi universities students in memorization and recitation, which was held by the Municipality of Kufa Mosque in celebration in the birth anniversary of Aqeela of Banu Hashim Al-Hawraa Zainab (peace be upon her).
The student, Hassan Abd al-Ridha Abdullah of the fifth stage was nominated in the College of Dentistry to participate in the competition, and he scored second in the memorization of all of the Qur’an among forty governmental and private universities, and obtained the certificate of appreciation
