A postgraduate diploma entitled ((prevalence of obesity in primary schools in Basra)) was discussed by doctoral student Firas Abdul Qadir Jassim at the College of Nursing / University of Basra. The thesis dealt with a cross-sectional study that included a group of primary schools in Basra Governorate, where the researcher took a random sample of primary school students and measured the weight and height of each student for three different grades. The most important aim of the research is to know the prevalence of obesity for primary school students in Basra Governorate, and the request received a very good estimate. The research reached the following results: - There is a high rate of overweight among primary school students. It was also noted that the percentage of obesity among males is more than that of females.
The students of the first grade of elementary school were obese than the rest of the classes. |
