During the seminar organized by the Kalkamsh Foundation and elites and competencies with the Faculty of Pharmacy at Basra University under the slogan "The dimensions of the phenomenon of drugs And ways to reduce them and treat addicts." Researchers and specialists from all Iraqi universities, specialists have warned during the research that was conducted in the seminar of the growing phenomenon of drug use And promoting it and increasing the number of its use of various kinds, especially among the youth, and others demanded the opening of specialized centers to treat addiction and provide Job opportunities for young people The dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy at Basra University, Dr. Abdul-Ilah Al-Mayah, said that recent research has indicated a rise in drug use. He called on stakeholders to reduce this phenomenon, hold its promoters accountable and create jobs for young people to fill the void in their lives.
Dr. Aqeel al-Sabbagh, director of the mental health department at Basra General Hospital, said: "The reasons behind the use of a group A large number of young people are easy to access and lack of control," he said, calling on government agencies to build a specialized national center. She participated in the teaching seminar in the Faculty of Pharmacy Dr. Ola Mohamed Nour with her research tagged "Drugs types and forms" and addressed the phenomenon Drugs and their natural, industrial and electronic types and how they affect the central nervous system, including steroids, including inhibitors And among them are hallucinogens. The seminar stressed the establishment of an addiction treatment center in Basra province in addition to activating the media role in diagnosing citizens Imbalance to reduce this phenomenon and emphasize the continuation of seminars and workshops on drug awareness and the formation of a joint committee of the University Basra, the Anti-Narcotics Department, the Basra Provincial Council, the Ministry of Health and civil society organizations to follow up on the recommendations of the symposium
