On Monday, January 17, 2022, the technical meeting for the qualifiers for the southern region of Iraqi universities was held, in the presence of the representative of the Ministry, Chairman of the Technical Committee, Dr. Haider Aufi and Dean of the College of Physical Education, Dr. Sabah Mahdi and Director of Student Activities Department Dr. Qusay Al-Dirawi, member of the Central Committee and heads of delegations of universities participating in the tournament, opened the session with a welcoming speech by Dr. Qusay Al-Dirawi. The topics of the meeting included a discussion and clarification of the technical points of the championship by Dr. Haider Awfi And the head of the referees committee, and the meeting concluded by making a lottery and defining the tournament system for two groups and the league system.
