A research team at the College of Pharmacy at the University of Basrah, PhD student Huda Shaker Farhan, Professor Dr. Shaker Abdul-Salem Al-Jadaan from the College of Pharmacy, and Professor Dr. Suzan Abdul-Jabbar Abdul-Aziz from the College of Veterinary Medicine were able to record parasite genes and save them in the global gene bank, which are genes isolated from the larval stage Cysticercus tenicolis. The parasite on sheep and goats is the parasite Taenia hydatigen found in stray dogs. It was registered and preserved in the NCBI Global Gene Bank with the coding HSS01, HSS02, HSS03, HSS04 to be the first registration of the university and preserved at the molecular level, knowing that this work is part of a doctoral thesis in progress and work.
