College of pharmacy held a seminar about Tranexamic acid .

College of Pharmacy, University of Basra held a seminar entitled (Uncommon Use of Tranexamic acid  to treat melasma) presented by Dr. Noor Kadhim Mohammed.The seminar included an explanation of the Tranexamic  medication, which has been used for a long time to treat various types of bleeding, but an uncommon use of this drug appeared recently to treat melasma due to its effectiveness to treat skin pigmentations caused by sunlight exposure , which often occurs in the face .The seminar indicated that there are many studies that indicated the effectiveness of treatment when used in a small dose (250 mg / twice a day) orally or as a local treatment on the skin.
