Three students from the Department of Natural Marine Sciences in CMS will participate in an international conference to be held in Turkey/Istanbul between 19th-20th February 2022. The conference is on environmental, agricultural and food sciences. Students Muhammad Adnan Danbos and Muhammad Sami Shaheen will participate with their graduation project titled "Types of Barnacles that are not Endemic in the Iraqi Waters" supervised by Prof. Abd Al-Hussein Hatem Ghazi and Assist. Prof. Dr. Mortada Dabij Nasser. These crustaceans have great effects, especially on water-dependent constructions such as electric power stations. They also increase the weight of the ships, which causes great material losses in removing them, or they increase the weights of the ships, and this affects dramatically. Great on the efficiency of these ships, as they stick to the surfaces of other neighborhoods and cause damage to those neighborhoods and disruption of the ecosystem. Student Zainab Ahmed Nasser will participate with her graduation project titled "Pollution with Microplastics in the Waters of Southern Iraq" supervised by Prof Dr. Abd Al-Hussein Hatem Ghazi and Assist Prof. Dr. Amal Ghazi Yasser. The importance of the project lies in the harmful effects caused by these minute substances by entering through the food chain to different neighborhoods and reaching the human being, which is expected to cause various diseases and health problems.
