The Continuing Education Unit, in cooperation with the Department of Plastic Arts in our college, held an art workshop on “Teaching the Basics of Sewing Art for Beginners.” The workshop was presented by the assistant teacher Miad Musa Hassan, and managed by the assistant teacher Hadeel Iyad Makki.
The workshop included a definition of hand sewing tools, sewing machine and materials used for sewing.
The workshop discussed the method of working with the pattern in detailing the model, then separating the model on the fabric, after which the stitching is done by hand and at the end the sewing is done in the machine.
The workshop was attended by a group of employees of our college.
The aim of the workshop is to teach craftswomen in addition to functional work, and other than that, sewing is important in household matters
