The seminar discussed (Preserving data and information using DNA) at the College of Nursing at Basra University. The assistant teacher (Muhammad Mu'nis Ismail) said that the traditional methods used to store data and information such as hard disks, compact disks and others are subject to damage in a maximum time (50 years) and it is better to replace them with (DNA) that lasts thousands of years and that the use of (DNA) that consists of (nucleotides) four (ACGT), where the four (nucleotides) are made as a form of encoded data that stores approximately (455,000,000) million kbytes for a period of time up to one million years, and the researcher recommended them to save data that requires a long time to preserve it that reaches millions of years. |
