The College of Education for Human Sciences at the University of Basra organized a workshop on (forms of harassment in the university community and its repercussions on social relations among students)
The workshop aimed to educate students about the nature of social relationships and that social relationships satisfy a group of important psychological needs of individuals (the need for security, love, belonging), and without them, he would not feel pleasure and happiness in the company of others. She also emphasized the most important characteristics of friendship (value, hope and achievement), as she indicated to The most important criteria that govern sound social relations are values and standards, and deviation from values and standards leads to distorting the meaning of fellowship and friendship on campus.
The workshop that I attended included (Professor Dr. Batoul Ghaleb Al-Nahi, a teacher in the Department of Educational and Psychological Sciences)
(One of the things that distort and disturb social relations on the campus is deviating from what is acceptable social behavior, and one of these unacceptable behaviors is harassment. The lecture focused on the personality of the harasser as a psychopathic anti-social personality, and this was formed either through negative family education or through a commanding officer. The lecture referred to the most important psychological repercussions that the victim suffers from or suffers from, and to the most important methods of psychological treatment to get rid of post-traumatic stress disorder as a result of harassment. The position of Islamic Sharia and other heavenly religions was also emphasized. to the harasser, as well as the position of Iraqi law and the penalties it legislates against the behavior of harassment, and to the most important laws and procedures that limit the problem of electronic harassment)
The workshop recommended the need to address this problem by joining forces with the media, jurists and educational institutions to educate the members of society in all its segments to report any attempt to blackmail the individual.
Note that this workshop is part of the preventive and development counseling program implemented by the Arab College for Human Sciences to promote the psychological, emotional and cognitive development of its students.
