Under the patronage of the President of Basra University, Prof. Dr. Saad Shaheen Hammadi, President of the University of Basra, the College of Agriculture undertakes the cultivation of date palms and trees within the activities of the Million Tree Planting Project. Acacia, Burham and Sidr, in addition to planting green spaces between trees. The main goal is to increase the green areas in the university and the governorate with varieties of date palms from extinction and to produce plants that are evergreen as windbreaks and distribute them to various regions of Basra Governorate.
