The College of Agriculture at the University of Basra organized a panel discussion on the study of the effect of adding omega-3 fatty acids group and vitamin E on the reproductive characteristics and the quality of the larvae of the common carp Cyprinus carpio cultured in earthen ponds, the study which presented by the researcher and doctoral student Osama Abdul Hadi Salih pointed the addition of Omega-3 at a rate of 50 gm/ 100 gm of food and vitamin E at a ratio of 200 mg / 100 gm of food in the diet, where the results showed an increase in the growth rates of common carp parents and the food additives improved reproductive characteristics such as the percentage of hatching and fertilization, as well as increasing the growth and survival rates of the larvae resulting from artificial propagation and the study recommended the owners of hatcheries using Omega- 3 and vitamin E, in the aforementioned rates, to increase the growth rates of the parents and increase the hatchery productivity of economically important fish larvae.
