The University of Basra ranked second among Iraqi universities in the QS international classification According to the classification of the (QS Quacquarelli Symonds) international institution specialized in global higher education for the year 2022. The classification explained that "the University of Baghdad ranked first among these universities, and its sequence was 51-100 globally, and the University of Basra came in second place, and its sequence was 101-150 globally, followed by the University of Mosul, whose sequence was 101-150.
