On Wednesday morning, 27 March 2022, at the Department of Information and Knowledge Technologies, a master’s thesis entitled (continuing education and its role in raising the efficiency of human resources in the libraries of the University of Basrah: a survey study) was discussed.
The thesis presented by the student Marwa Sharif Qassem included four chapters. The first chapter discussed the general framework of the study. The second chapter included the theoretical study: Continuing Education in Libraries and Information Centers. The third chapter discussed the empirical study. The fourth chapter dealt with the results, inferences, recommendations and suggestions.
The thesis aims to identify the programs and activities of the Continuing Education and Development Center and the libraries at the University of Basrah, as well as to Introduce subscribers, responsible authorities and the desired benefit from them and identify the difficulties they face.
The thesis inference is the following:
1-Lack of training courses from university libraries and libraries of scientific and research centres for the human resources working in them.
2-The role highlighted by the electronic platforms (Zoom, Google Classroom, fcc) and some other social networking sites, including WhatsApp and Telegram, is a contribution and an indicator to achieving the training objectives.
