The Department of Ecology at the College of Science at the University of Basra organized a seminar on the removal of petroleum hydrocarbons from some industrial wastewater in Basra Governorate using environmentally friendly materials.
The seminar, in which the master's student Haider Kamel Zayer lectured, aims to treat industrial wastewater contaminated with petroleum hydrocarbons before putting it into the aquatic environment through the use of pumice stone (black pigeon stone), straw and basil seeds.
