
The Dean of the College of Dentistry, Assistant. Professor Dr. Fateh Al-Khakani, presided an evaluation committee to discuss a master’s thesis in the College of Health and Medical Technologies, where Dr. Aqeel Ibraheem, an academic teacher at the College of Dentistry, was one of its members.
The thesis discussed the association of dental caries with body mass among school children with an age range of 6-13 years.
As the studies proved that there is an reverse relationship between body mass and dental caries, and that underweight people have a high level of dental caries.
The study also found that there is a positive relationship between lifestyle such as sleeping hours and the number of hours of watching television, as well as eating habits, eating sugars, fast food and dental caries, while brushing the teeth was reversely associated with dental caries.
