The Department of Ecology at the College of Science at the University of Basra organized seminar on the estimation of some heavy metals in reeds grown in wastewater in Basra Governorate.
The seminar, which was attended by a graduate student - Higher Diploma, Ahmed Aqil Tohme, aims to identify the types of pollutants in wastewater using reeds and sediments, and to know the efficiency of the plant and its use as a bioaccumulator.
The seminar dealt with explaining environmentally sound technologies that improve environmental performance, including bioremediation, which uses living organisms such as plants, animals or microorganisms to remove toxic pollutants from different environments.
