Basrah - College of Pharmacy Media:
The President of the University of Basrah signed a joint memorandum of understanding with the Iran University of Medical Sciences, aiming to develop and expand the horizons of strategic scientific and academic cooperation between the two universities.
The Dean of the College of Pharmacy, Professor Dr. Jubran Khalil Hassan, stated that the agreement included the active exchange of professors, students, and scientific and technical expertise across all medical sciences. This encompasses precise pharmaceutical sciences such as herbal and alternative medicine, as well as specialized medical sciences like nursing.
The agreement also stipulated future cooperation to prepare and train academic staff and students, and to improve the quality of education at the University of Basrah. In addition, it involves joint scientific participation in laboratories, delivering lectures, and organizing scientific conferences and seminars between the two sides.
Regarding the College of Pharmacy at the University of Basrah in particular, the agreement focused on developing and expanding the Department of Pharmacognosy and Medicinal Plants. It established a joint strategic mechanism by providing agricultural areas for cultivating medicinal herbs, working in the laboratory to extract their active and beneficial compounds, and developing clinical pharmacy staff.
Fundamentally, this memorandum aims to open broad horizons for joint cooperation, seeking to improve the scientific and technical efficiency of the staff. It also aims to provide the College of Pharmacy with modern, specialized scientific expertise in pharmaceutical and nursing sciences, especially in precise disciplines that require support within the academic structure of the University of Basrah.
