Basra University organizes an electronic workshop on (digital violence against women)
The College of Education for Human Sciences organized an online workshop on digital violence against women
The workshop aimed to educate students about the importance of caution in dealing with digital means of communication to reduce exposure to digital violence
The workshop in which I lectured included (professor, experienced Dr. Batool Ghaleb Al-Nahi)
Forms of digital violence, its causes, and the psychological, health, social, and economic effects of digital violence against women
And the purposes pursued by those who exploit digital means of communication to blackmail women
Focus has also been placed on the legal texts and penalties set by the Iraqi legislator for those who practice extortion, threats and electronic violence
At the end of the workshop, some tips were recommended that women follow in dealing with digital media in order not to allow their account to be hacked or hacked, and to access their information. These recommendations include:
Not explicitly disclosing private information such as phone number and home address
Do not post private photos
- In the event of repeated extortion, threats and feelings of insecurity
Inform the competent security authorities and call the numbers designated for reporting cases of electronic threats and extortion
