The Department of Internal Medicine at the College of Medicine of Basra University and under the patronage of the President of Basra University, Prof. Dr. Saad Shaheen Hammadi, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Medicine, Prof. Dr. Khalil Ismail Al-Hamdi, the respected, held a virtual scientific symposium on the problems of diagnosing and treating depression using the zoom app. The symposium clarified the problems and obstacles that physicians face in diagnosing depression, and gave an idea about the difference between depression in adults and children, and the difference between cognitive behavioral therapy and supportive treatment for depression patients. and also discussed the relationship between depression and other mental illnesses.
