On Monday morning, 9/11/2020, a master's thesis was discussed in the Information and Libraries Department, College of Arts, University of Basrah entitled "Tecnomics and Its Role in Organizing Information for Iraqi Universities' Websites: An Evaluation Study"
The thesis presented by the student Abdul Qadir Ahmed Ali Mustafa included four chapters. The first chapter dealt with the general framework of the study. The second chapter discussed the theoretical aspect. The third chapter referred to the field study. The fourth chapter dealt with the results and recommendations.
The aim of the thesis is to learn about the taxonomy in terms of the concept, importance and functions in the theoretical study as well as its applications in the websites of Iraqi Universities in the field study and evaluation.
The thesis concluded that most of the websites lacked the provision, control and regulation of the taxonomical applications, as well as the
lack of logical coherence among most of the relationships between the main and sub-categories of the taxonomic structure.
