The Continuing Education and Development Center at the University of Basrah organized a course on managing meetings.
The aim of the course is to:
-Provide participants with the skills of holding effective meetings and leading work committees.
-Develop the capabilities of the participants and provide them with the necessary skills to prepare and write minutes and reports for meetings and committees.
-Learn how to draft reports, the stages and steps of preparing and studying the aspects, and studying the behavioral and technical aspects of preparing and writing reports in a scientifically correct manner.
The course, presented by Dr. Arafat Nasser Jassim, included an explanation of the most important definition of meetings, the roles of the members of the meetings, the types of meetings, the influential forces in the meetings, and the most important discussions that should take place in the meetings, which are solving problems, determining the time of the meeting quarterly and weekly, preparing the most important necessary supplies before the meetings and then identify the most important courses.
At the end, the recommendation was that it is necessary to set the time for the meetings and inform the participants before a specific period in order for them to be prepared, the need for individuals with specialization in the meeting, to attend the meeting at the specified time, to allocate a discussion for each axis with a specific period in order for the meeting to be coordinated with a time and topic to show correct results as planned, avoiding unnecessary discussions and dialogues that are far from the subject of the meetings in order to produce the desired results.
