The master's thesis in the Department of Geography / College of Education for Human Sciences / University of Basra - researched the spatial suitability of fuel filling stations in the Zubair district center - for the student Najla Ali Hussein Al-Janabi.
The study dealt with the fuel filling stations in the Zubair district center. The study aimed to identify and analyze the reality of the spatial distribution of the fuel filling stations in the Zubair district center and to determine their spatial suitability in terms of their locations, the extent of their adequacy to the population’s needs, their spatial differences, the pattern of their distribution, and the identification of appropriate and inappropriate stations in accordance with the local planning standards set by them. (Ministry of Oil, General Company for Distribution of Petroleum Products), and building a spatial analytical model that simulates a set of algorithms to choose the best suitable sites for signing ARC GIS 10.8 attached to the Geographic Information Joining Program.
Fuel filling stations in the Zubair district center in the future. The study included four chapters preceded by the introduction to the first chapter: natural characteristics, and human variables affecting the establishment of fuel filling stations in the Zubair district center. Al-Zubair district center. The third chapter dealt with the study of the specifications of the fuel filling stations in the Al-Zubair district center. The fourth chapter dealt with the study of the statistical analysis of the fuel filling stations in the Al-Zubair district center.
The study concluded that there is no spatial convenience for fuel filling stations in the center of Al-Zubair district, because most of them overlap within the scope of influence, and this is contrary to the conditions and controls of the Ministry of Oil in terms of the distance between one station and another. And Al-Najmi district, with one station commensurate with the specified population standard of (35,000) people per station
