The University of Basra participates in a ministerial meeting for the central librarians of Iraq's universities
A meeting was held at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research - Department of Planning and Follow-up, which included the secretaries of the central librarians in Iraqi government universities, moderated by Professor Dr. Lubna Khamis Mahdi, Director General of the Department of Research and Development in the Ministry, where the University of Basra was represented by the Secretary of the Central Library, Dr. Zekra Muhammad Kazem.
The meeting discussed ways to develop university libraries, and concluded with a set of recommendations that serve the scientific process, contributing to the development of research fields for graduate and undergraduate students, and facilitating access to information sources in the quickest way. The Ministerial Committee also recommended allocating an award to the distinguished university library and set criteria for that award.
