The Cultural Center, in cooperation with the Center for Basra and Gulf Studies and the Center for Continuing Education at the University of Basra, organized a panel discussion entitled ( Computational Linguistics and its Applications in the Arabic Language).
The workshop presented by the Director of the Cultural Center, Dr. Iyad Mohammed Abboud, aims to direct new researchers to pay attention to computational linguistics and the need to study other sciences, such as the basics of statistics, probability theory and learning English, in addition to encouraging researchers in both disciplines Arabic language and computer science engineering to participate in applied research.
The seminar dealt with computational linguistics and then dealt with a branch of applied linguistics. It is a new field of knowledge linking multiple sciences such as linguistics and computer sciences, artificial intelligence, mathematics, logic and philosophy, cognitive sciences, cognitive psychology and psycholinguistics, anthropology, and neuroscience.
