The College of Science at the University of Basra organized a seminar on (manufacturing nanoparticles using green methods and their biological uses) for graduate student (Master’s) Mawahib Jassim Abdel Zahra.
The study aims to manufacture nanoparticles using plant extracts, and use them to control disease-carrying insects.
The study included an introduction to nanotechnology and nanoparticles and addressed various manufacturing methods, with the most important (environmentally friendly methods) or (green methods) and nanoparticle characterization.
The study also implied the plant extracts' preparation for nanoparticle synthesis and detection of their active compounds. Finally, the study indicated the possibility of testing the effectiveness of nanoparticles in controlling disease-carrying insects.
