The college of Medicine at the University of Basrah, in cooperation with the Civil Defense Department of the University Presidency and the Directorate of Civil Defense, organized a training course in safety and security guidelines.
During the workshop, an introductory awareness lecture on the principles of civil defense and an explanation of the fire extinguishers and practical training for fire extinguishers was given by the Director of the Directorate of Civil Defense, Mr. Haider Jaber Odeh.
The workshop was attended by the Dean of the College, Prof. Dr. Murtadha Mohammed Saleh Al-Musafer, and the Assistant Dean for Administrative Affairs, Dr. Mohammed Younis Al-Atabi.
The lecture included a number of guidelines related to safety, prevention, ways to deal with fires, definition of the types of extinguishers, how to deal with them, and the procedures that must be followed in the event of accidents.
