A French channel conducts an interview with a teacher from Basra University
The French channel France 24 conducted a television interview with Dr. Ali Nasser Abdullah, a lecturer in the Geography Department at the College of Education for Girls, about bacterial contamination of the Shatt al-Arab waters and heavy metals.
Nasser explained that the water of the Shatt al-Arab is contaminated with bacteria, as well as high concentrations of heavy metals, especially cadmium, manganese, cobalt, and other elements that are toxic and dangerous to living organisms, especially humans.
He attributed the causes of pollution in the waters of the Shatt al-Arab to mainly sewage water that flows into it, in addition to industrial and agricultural wastewater.
