The College of Education for Pure Sciences, in cooperation with the Women’s Empowerment Unit and the Center for Development and Continuing Education, held a workshop entitled (The Importance of Proper Nutrition in Preventing Diseases) on Tuesday, 12/12/2023, and the workshop included the workshop delivered by Dr. Amal Salman Majeed Al-Zowar/Therapeutic Nutrition Specialist The symposium discussed the following:
Maintaining the health of the individual by following a healthy diet to prevent malnutrition, in addition to addressing the diseases that people are exposed to as a result of using improper nutrition, including diabetes, heart disease, stroke, and cancer. The honorable doctor pointed out the correct methods for the diet that protects people from diseases. She also pointed out the serious risks that threaten human health, represented by not following a healthy diet, in addition to not exercising and lack of physical activities.
It also showed that healthy nutrition plays an important role in preventing some problems and diseases such as weight gain, obesity, heart and arterial diseases, and osteoporosis.
