The editorial board of the Basra Research Journal for Human Sciences held its meeting in the presence of the Dean of the College of Education for Human Sciences, Professor Dr. Nidaa Muhammad Baqir, to work on getting the journal into the Scopus classifications due to its reaching an advanced stage in the international classification of research journals.
During the meeting, the practical steps to reach the Scopus classification were discussed, after a special website was designed for the magazine, a letter was sent to the Communications and Media Commission for the purpose of obtaining Iraqi accreditation for the site IQ, the design of the electronic journal management program OJS, and the purchase of the digital object identifier DOI.
Many necessary steps were agreed upon to reach the international classification, the most important of which is assigning an editorial board with the ability to use modern technology and train others, selecting scientific evaluators who are proficient in using modern technology, working to twin the magazine with international journals included in the Scopus classification, and field visits to the journals. The Iraqi Academy, which obtained the Scopus classification, took advantage of the strengths of the magazine represented by its long history and large number of published issues, as well as the financial support for the magazine.
At the end of the meeting, which was attended by Dr. Asaad Rahman from the Quality Department at the University Presidency, it was agreed to discuss the first step and set practical procedures for developing the magazine next week.
