
The College of Dentistry at the University of Basra, in cooperation with the Continuing Education Unit, held an introductory lecture entitled “Managing and Performing the Awareness Career Path” for new teaching assistants among dentists.
Professor Dr. Salman Sahib Atshan, through a series of his lectures, clarified the tasks and learned about all the laws that the new employee needs to avoid mistakes. Through the comprehensive explanation, all the tasks assigned to the government employee in the professional ladder were reviewed and the laws that lead to enabling the employee to understand and understand were discussed. What is best for their professional path and work to develop the skills of that path for the purpose of improving the college’s status in the service of the public good.
The professor added to the definition of the career path as work that includes gaining experiences that extend throughout the individual’s life from the moment he enters work and ends when he leaves work for any reason whatsoever, meaning that the career path represents a limited period of the individual’s life, and that the individual moves during that period through a series of positions. Or jobs that lead to the accumulation of experience and increased responsibilities, in exchange for obtaining higher financial privileges.
The professor also pointed out the types of job performance assigned to the employee, which are subject to an annual evaluation that evaluates the employee’s efficiency and ability to perform his work tasks in order to determine his strengths and weaknesses, and provide the necessary solutions to improve them.
The professor touched on all its formations and extracts from Iraqi laws and legislation, such as the Discipline of State and Socialist Sector Employees Law No. 14 of 1991, which obliges the employee appointed on probation to all public service laws, the rights they approve, the obligations and penalties they impose, their effects, and the procedures for imposing them on violators and those who are not committed to performing the duties and tasks assigned to them. With it.
In the end, the lecture focused on scientific research, its requirements, and its importance in academic life.
The professor concluded the lecture, which is considered unique of its kind and received the approval of the newly appointed dental assistants for this year, by reviewing the history of the University of Basra.
