The College of Dentistry at the University of Basra, in cooperation with the Continuing Education Unit, held a practical lecture entitled Home Bleaching.
The lecture, delivered by assistant lecturer Farah Abdel Razzaq, included an explanation of the causes of tooth discoloration, methods of treating it, and the materials used to whiten teeth.
In his lecture, the lecturer referred to the method of teeth whitening in the clinic, in addition to how the auditor can treat his teeth through home teeth whitening to obtain the best results that the auditor is looking for.
The lecturer pointed out a set of tips, the most important of which is “to eliminate the yellowing of teeth and make them brighter, use an electric toothbrush because your hands will never match the speed and power of this brush, and choose a whitening toothpaste to prevent the formation of new stains and also to lighten the current yellowing, in addition to flossing, and be sure to rinse your mouth afterward.” “Eat sugary, starchy and acidic foods, because sugar and starch are good sources of bacteria, but acidic foods can destroy tooth enamel even without bacteria.”
