
The President of the University of Basra, Prof. Dr., opened The respected Saad Shaheen Hammadi, the electronic library at the Center for Studies and Teaching of the Persian Language in the Central Library in the Bab al-Zubair Colleges Complex.
Hammadi added that the library is considered the first of its kind at the University of Basra, as it is linked electronically with the library of the Holy Shrine of Razavi and includes a very large number of Arabic, Persian and English sources in various sciences and specializations, numbering up to 200 million sources.
The director of the Center for Studies and Teaching of the Persian Language, Assistant Lecturer Maitham Muhammad Saadoun, indicated that there is a group of books and resources that can be accessed directly on the library’s computers (off line). The number is 300,000 books distributed among five computers with a storage capacity of 5 terabytes.
Mr. Najm Abdel-Wadud Al-Jazairi, Director of the Studies and Planning Division at the College of Dentistry and a permanent member of the electronic library committee, stated that the largest number of sources we can identify by accessing the official website via the Internet and with special powers that were provided to the center in coordination with the Holy Razavi Shrine.
