A paper by the Iraqi Board at the College of Medicine at Basra University discussed the pattern and behaviors of seeking health care for patients with type 2 diabetes. The research presented by student Sohair Ali Omran aims to study the pattern and behaviors of searching for health care for patients with type 2 diabetes in Basra and to determine the number of people who follow healthy and unhealthy behaviors and to know the factors that affect that. The research concluded that 24% of patients use informal health care. The research recommended the use of health education programs to raise awareness among these patients about the health risks of these practices
